Use the issuing laboratory's official service

Enter an IGI number through Verify Your Report and a GIA number through Report Check on the laboratory's own domain. A screenshot, forwarded PDF or similar-looking website is not a substitute for the official record.

Finding the record establishes that the report exists. It does not by itself prove that the physical diamond in front of you is the stone described.

Match every identifying field

Compare report number, date, shape and cutting style, carat weight and all millimetre measurements. Then match colour, clarity, relevant cut information, polish, symmetry, fluorescence, comments and the laboratory-grown disclosure.

Where a laser inscription is present, inspect it with suitable magnification and match every character. If identity cannot be connected confidently, pause the purchase and obtain professional examination.

Keep grading and commercial safety separate

A genuine grading report describes the stone within its stated scope. It is not a sale-price appraisal, a resale guarantee or proof that every payment and delivery term is safe.

Confirm the actual stone's images or video, the seller's legal details, complete price, delivery, payment stages and return or change terms in writing before paying.
