Separate the stone from the photograph
Exposure, white balance, lighting and the display can all change a colour impression. A vivid advertising image does not establish how the individual stone looks in everyday conditions.
Ask for comparable views
Request images and a short moving view under neutral light, then another ordinary lighting environment. Compare hue, tone and saturation, noting uneven or overly dark areas. Confirm material identity and treatment separately: appearance alone cannot establish either.
