Specify the setting requirements
Give the diameter in millimetres and the acceptable tolerance, not just a total carat weight. Tell the supplier whether the stones are for pavé, a halo or another setting, and state the required colour and clarity range.
Confirm the parcel
Specify the approximate count or total weight, deadline and expected documentation. Agree how calibration and origin will be checked. Retain the specification for repeat orders instead of relying on a previous parcel's informal description.
